Over 41% ,(2.4 million) of the applications submitted for DV-99; over 32% , (Over 2.5 million) of the applications submitted for DV-2000; and over 2 million of the applications submitted for DV-2001 were rejected because they were received outside the official "Mail in Period"
Applications for the Diversity Visa Lottery may only be filed during a time period (normally 30 days) called the "Application Period" or "Mail in Period" and at the place which is announced by the United States State Department.
All applications must arrive during this 30 day "Mail in Period". Any application that arrives before or after this "Mail in Period" will be instantly disqualified.
Because the State Department announces the specific time periods shortly before the lottery "Mail in Period" begins, we urge all those who wish to enter the lottery to have their application ready to be filed at the earliest possible moment.
